AN SCREAM BREAKS THE SILENCE

A bloodcurdling yell shattered the heavy silence. It echoed across the abandoned hall, eliciting goosebumps to rise on my arms. A heart hammered inside my chest as I sought to figure out the location of the frightening sound. Was it a trick? Or was my imagination running wild in the dim stillness? I stood frozen in apprehension, incapable to move.
